It’s time to climb aboard the Ex-press train to No-ville, as PlayStation has duly admonished players who insist on calling the X button on the DualShock controller “the Ex button”.
Surely joining the disturbed members of our society who agree that ‘jif’ is the correct way to say ‘gif’, PlayStation UK spent last week slighting the ‘Ex’ pronunciation as entirely incorrect – despite a follow up poll where 81% of voters agreed to disagree on the subject – assuring everyone that it was a cross, and should therefore be referred to as ‘the Cross button’.
No. No, thank you.
If Cross is called X (it's not), then what are you calling Circle?🤔 https://t.co/dvQ19duemW

Because this debate grinds my gears, I'll finish it once and for all:
– Crosses have the same distance between each stick.
– Crosses form a square.
– Exes don't have the same distance between each stick.
– Exes form a rectangle.
