The Crew Motorfest was meant to get a major reveal at next week’s Ubisoft Forward livestream, but hours of footage have already leaked online.
Almost a week ahead of its planned showcase next week, well over two hours of footage has emerged from the upcoming racer, The Crew Motorfest.
The leak was spotted by Insider Gaming, with the outlet reporting that footage from the open-world driving game’s closed testing phase had been uploaded to a file sharing site.
The footage reportedly shows everything from its garage of cars, menus, and details of its Hawaiian island setting, complete with day-night cycle.
Ubisoft has, it seems, spent the past few days plugging up such leaks. An earlier 25-minute video of Motorfest footage briefly appeared on YouTube, but was dragged from public view in short order. The lengthier video mentioned above also appeared on YouTube, but this too was taken down – but not before the footage was downloaded and then shared elsewhere.
We haven’t seen the footage for ourselves, but it’s described as poor-quality by those who have; Insider Gaming also notes that a user’s name – most likely the person responsible for the leak – is easy to spot in the footage. It’s likely that Ubisoft will have written that name in a notepad somewhere and underlined it in red pen. If you’re really keen to know more about Motorfest ahead of time, a Reddit post has some tantalising details which have emerged from its testing phase.
Again, The Crew Motorfest will almost certainly be among the games featured in the upcoming Ubisoft Forward live event, scheduled for 12 June 2023 at 17:45PM (BST) or 9:45 PDT. Other titles likely to be included in the livestream include Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora and Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
The Crew Motorfest is scheduled to emerge this year for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. A more firm release date is likely to be revealed at Ubisoft Forward, too.
