Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom dataminers have discovered two paraglider fabrics that could potentially be unlocked by future Zelda and Ganondorf amiibos.
One of the many lovely touches in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom is that you can unlock various paraglider fabrics for Link by completing quests across Hyrule. But you can also get new paraglider fabrics by scanning in various amiibos – and it seems there might be more amiibo to come.
As reported by FayerWayer, dataminers have discovered that there are two fabrics hidden within the code of the game that don’t seem to be unlockable by any current means. You can see them in the video below: the Princess Zelda fabric is at 3:10, and the Gerudo King fabric is at 3:35. It might be that these fabrics could be unlocked by future amiibo: presumably amiibos of Princess Zelda and Ganondorf.
Tears of the Kingdom launched with just one tie-in amiibo, featuring Link with his fabulous new arm. That amiibo reportedly has the ID number 1048 in the game, and unlocks the Champion’s Tunic fabric. The two currently unused fabrics apparently have the ID numbers 1049 and 1050, so they might be tied to subsequent amiibos.
It would certainly fit with the previous pattern of amiibo releases: Breath of the Wild got several new amiibos to tie-in with the release of the Champions’ Ballad DLC months after the game was released.
Nintendo has certainly slowed down the pace of amiibo releases over the past few years, as the toy-to-life craze has waned. But as something of an amiibo collector, personally I’m glad to see these lovely little plastic things are still going, and the Breath of the Wild amiibo in particular were fantastic. Here’s hoping we get some equally lovely future amiibo for Tears of the Kingdom.
