Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is coming out in November, according to leaked info on a price tracking website.

Just as inflation is driving up the price of carrots and pasta, there’s a similarly inflationary process going on with the franchise formerly known as Yakuza. A spin-off from the mainline crime series, now called Like a Dragon, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is one of the most likeably overblown video game titles we’ve seen in years.

And, thanks to a quite hefty leaked parcel of information recently published on price tracking website PSDeals (via Gematsu), we now know a bit more about Sega’s upcoming action adventure.

“Once a legendary yakuza, Kazuma Kiryu faked his own death and abandoned his name for the sake of protecting his family,” the game’s product description reads. “Now, he is thrust into conflict by a mysterious figure attempting to drive him out of hiding. Under the codename ‘Joryu,’ Kiryu embarks on a gripping action narrative with bone-shattering combat in vibrant locations filled with exciting characters and activities.”

The description then goes on to talk about its combat, in which players will be able to switch between Yakuza and Agent characters who each have their own fighting style. Kiryu specialises in strength and aggression, while the unnamed Agent offers superior speed, precision, and even some “high-tech gadgets” which include “electrified blind wires.”

The series’ trademark goofy side missions also make an expected return, with diversions including karaoke and what sounds like radio-control car racing (“Racing in the pocket circuit”).

There are also some notes that inform us of offline multiplayer support for two players, while anyone purchasing the PS4 version will be able to download a PS5 edition at no extra cost. They’ll have to remember to put the PS4 disc in the PS5 before the game will launch, though, the description adds.

Finally, a release date: Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name is out on PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S and XBox One on 9 November. PSDeals also has a gallery of screenshots to look at if you’re into that sort of thing.
