Rashid of the Turbulent Wind is to be Street Fighter 6′s 19th playable character – he’ll be added to the roster on 24 July.

One month after Street Fighter 6's launch, Capcom has announced that Rashid of the Turbulent Wind will be added to the game’s roster on 24 July.

The 19th playable character in the game’s line-up, Rashid will appear in all three of Street Fighter 6's game modes. He’ll also come armed with some new special moves that highlight the character’s speed and ability, including a spinning kick called Arabian Cyclone and a jump called Arabian Skyhigh.

Here’s a more comprehensive list:

  • Arabian Cyclone: A new special move that performs a spinning kick and conjures up a whirlwind; can be used as a standalone blow, or transitioned into Rolling Assault or Wing Stroke
  • Arabian Skyhigh: A new double jump move that keeps opponents guessing on where Rashid will land from the air
Super Rashid Kick: Level 1 Super Art that unloads a devastating kick while soaring forward and up through the air
  • Ysaar: Previously Rashid’s V-Trigger move in Street Fighter™ V, this Level 2 Super Art summons a slow-moving whirlwind projectile that can be used to pressure opponents
  • Altair: Rashid’s Level 3 Super Art calls forth a tempest that lifts opponents before he rains down on them with a monsoon of powerful blows

Street Fighter 6 has been a storming success since its launch on 2 June, with positive reviews (“Triumphant” was our verdict) and Capcom announcing that it’s managed to shift over a million copies since launch.
