Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is getting a new (and final) story DLC, Future Redeemed, Nintendo has announced. It’s out on 25 April.

Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is getting a fourth and final wave of downloadable content next week, Nintendo has announced. Called Future Redeemed, the DLC will both continue the JRPG’s story and introduce some new battle mechanics, including the ability for two characters to attack together using Unity Combo.

Future Redeemed is part of Xenoblade Chronicles 3′s Expansion Pass, and has appeared somewhat earlier than expected; wave three only launched in February, and Nintendo’s own site originally had wave four’s release vaguely set to arrive at some point before 31 December this year. It’s fair to say that Xenoblade fans have been really spoiled since the latest chapter in the saga launched last July.

Nor is this the only bit of Xenoblade-related news to emerge over the past few hours. Nintendo has also announced that Xenoblade characters Pyra and Mythra are to get their own amiibo figures, available either separately or as a double pack.

“Each amiibo unlocks a unique Aegis Sword weapon skin that characters using the Swordfighter class can wield in Xenoblade Chronicles 3,” Nintendo writes.  The amiibo are due out on 21 July.

(Update: characters Noah and Mio are getting their own amiibo statues, too, Xenoblade’s Japanese Twitter account has revealed. And, if you’re feeling really flush, the soundtracks for all the Xenoblade games are also set to emerge in a big, fancy Trinity Box. Price? The equivalent of about £120. Preorders are open until 30 April, with the soundtrack releasing on 29 July.)

Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Future Redeemed will be available via its Expansion Pass from 25 April 2023.
