The October 2023 edition of Steam Next Fest starts today and will be running until 16 October, providing hundreds of free demos.

Update: Steam Next Fest is now live, and as always, the wealth of demos available is quite something. Among the more eye-catching titles we’ve seen so far we’ve found RoboCop: Rogue City, dystopian Excitebike-like Laika: Aged Through Blood, Greek-statues-and-robots puzzler sequel The Talos Principle 2, and the meditative climbing adventure, Jusant. Hurrah!

Our original story follows…

Steam Next Fest will begin today at 10am Pacific time (6pm in the UK), marking the debut of hundreds of game demos alongside hours of developer livestreams.

For a demo to be eligible for Steam Next Fest, it must be for an unreleased game that hasn’t been featured in a previous edition of the festival. The last Steam Next Fest back in June featured demos of games such as The Invincible, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, Gord, Sea of Stars, Venba and Viewfinder, among many others.

Steam has released a trailer for the October 2023 Steam Next Fest that showcases some of the games featured in the week-long celebration. You can take a look at below.

Doggy Don’t Care from Rohan Newell looks particularly fun, tasking you with causing chaos around the house as a mischievous pup. A Date With Death from Two and a Half Studios also looks interesting, as you attempt to strike up a romance with the Grim Reaper.

Other demos that have been confirmed so far include Wéko The Mask Gatherer from SIRO games and Lunar Lander Beyond from Atari, but many more will be revealed once the show begins later today.

Steam Next Fest will run until 10am Pacific time on 16 October – grab those demos while you can.
