Indie smash PowerWash Simulator is getting Warhammer 40,000 DLC, due for release later this year.
Get ready to hose the muck off a Space Marine’s shoulder pads – PowerWash Simulator is getting an unexpected bit of DLC based on the Warhammer 40K universe.
“Clean up the Grim Darkness of the Far Future when Warhammer 40,000 comes to PowerWash Simulator,” reads a bit of blurb shared by developer FuturLab. “As humanity stands at the edge of what could be its darkest age, could you wash away the grime to reveal a brighter future?”
Other than this, we don’t know too much else about the DLC as yet; the teaser trailer below is little more than a logo reveal.
A roadmap posted on Twitter (thanks, RPS) gives an idea of when the 40K expansion will release; it’ll emerge in Q4 this year (so between October and December, month fans), after a couple of free updates and another, so far unannounced bit of paid DLC.
As well as being a satisfying and oddly soothing hose-’em-up, PowerWash Simulator is rapidly becoming one of the most eclectic experience in gaming. We’ve already seen free expansions take place in Lara Croft’s manor, Final Fantasy 7′s Midgar, and most recently, Bikini Bottom thanks to last month’s SpongeBob Squarepants DLC.
Updates aside, PowerWash Simulator is also coming soon to VR – FuturLab gave us the guided tour of PowerWash Simulator VR last month, and a few control niggles aside, we were properly impressed by it.
Publisher nDreams’ vice president David Corless also neatly summed up just why PowerWash Simulator has been such a success following its launch last year. “It’s such a relaxing mindfulness experience,” Corless said, “and there’s something about doing a menial task but seeing immediate results, and then the feeling you get from actually completing something – it’s lovely.”
